Mayiga commended Rotarians for their dedication to identifying and addressing challenges affecting communities across different regions, noting that their commitment deserves the highest praise.

He highlighted Rotary’s impactful initiatives, including the provision of clean water, tree planting campaigns, immunization programs, and other humanitarian interventions.

“Through programs such as providing safe water, planting trees, vaccination drives, and other relief initiatives, Rotary continues to bring about meaningful and lasting change in our communities,” he said.

Mayiga further applauded Rotarians for upholding their global motto, Service Above Self, and for being a beacon of compassion and positive transformation in the country.

The Second Deputy Katikkiro and Treasurer of Buganda, Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, noted that the visit of the Rotary International President is expected to strengthen future financial support to the country.

He explained that the President’s direct involvement in immunization programs and project inspections has provided deeper insight into the impact of Rotary’s work in Uganda, which could potentially attract increased funding.

A total of $1.9 million was contributed by Rotary District 9213 and Rotary District 2914 to support humanitarian initiatives.

The event was attended by the President of Rotary International, Francesco Arezzo, officials from the Kabaka’s government, and numerous distinguished guests.

The Rotary Foundation supports Rotary clubs worldwide by investing donated funds to generate returns, which are then used to finance projects in healthcare, environmental conservation, economic empowerment, clean water access, and other essential community services.
